About Us

The Sugar Rush Studio Team

Hello and welcome.  We are Linda and Michael and we are the amazing team Sugar Rush Studio. We have 25 years of experience in commercial product photography and photo retouching for catalog, print advertising, e-commerce and websites.

This is our new non traditional experimental studio with our unique “You Ship it, We Shoot it” approach.  By working outside of our high tech “shedquarters” in Greenfield Massachusetts we are able to keep our overhead low and able to offer extremely competitive prices with the best photography quality. If you need product photos for your mail order catalog, a new e-commerce website or any advertising needs. You name it, we can make it happen and happen quick!

I've got the world on a string, sittin' on a rainbow
Got the string around my finger
What a world, what a life, I'm in love!
I've got a song that I sing

Every step of our process is streamlined for efficiency.  From photographing your products to the editing stages and carefully shipping your products back.  We will work one on one with your marketing, design or web development team to create compelling images.  In other words we give you the results you need, within your budget and fast.

" We are the music makers,
And we are the dreamers of dreams,
Wandering by lone sea-breakers,
And sitting by desolate streams;—
World-losers and world-forsakers,
On whom the pale moon gleams:
Yet we are the movers and shakers
Of the world for ever, it seems."

So how did we get stated...  The real about us. Well In 1987 my Spanish teacher gave me some great advice. He said “You should drop this class now before you fail”. So I switched from Spanish to Photography and joined the yearbook staff. Aside from feeling like Peter Parker without the awesome super powers, I discovered that I kind of liked it and actually got pretty good at it. So after photographing twenty or thirty proms and countless senior portraits, I decided to go to Brooks Institute of Photography and make it my real job. In 1993 I graduated with a BA and have been a commercial photographer ever since.

The path to Sugar Rush Studio has been that of filling a need in the industry. It is standard to be hired out on a day rate: usually a decent amount of money but tough to get steady work. It was difficult to turn down lots of good commercial jobs just because they were small. So it was starting to make more and more sense to create a studio that catered to smaller businesses and people that need less than a standard day of work from us. This is the basic theory of our new studio. Smaller businesses with limited but necessary photography needs. Their websites need professional images to compete in a market with countless competitors on the internet. We are here to help people stay competitive while staying affordable so their business can survive and flourish rather than being quickly dissolved by the ever expanding expenses of running your own company.

In 2005 I married my sweetheart and business partner. She has a degree from UMass and with my degree from Brooks we manage to make a very good team.  She keeps everything organized and is a master with details and numbers and I can photograph and light anything. In fact lighting is sort of a specialty of mine. I hope that will give us a chance to impress you and earn your business. We are very much looking forward to it.
